One day soon I can laugh and play
Like other little girls are able
Please buy a rose from me today.
I sell flowers from a fresh bouquet
To tourists at their table
One day soon I can laugh and play
Father says things will be okay
Times are a bit unstable
Please buy a rose from me today
Mother sells scarves she hand-crochets
At night she reads me Aesop’s fables
One day soon I can laugh and play
From my studies I never stray
I love school beneath the gable
Please buy a rose from me today
Before sleep we gather to pray
Our faith will keep us honorable
One day soon I can laugh and play
Please buy a rose from me today.
