Let Me Breathe

The art of ignorance is where I prevail.
When did my unused minutes soar?
Discreet musings often color me pale.

Why does my Chardonnay taste so stale?
When did I last hear you snore?
The art of ignorance is where I prevail.

When did I last hear,” You’ve got mail?”
When did we last toss a frisbee on shore?
Discreet musings often color me pale.

When did we together last walk a trail?
When did you last bring Chinese to my door?
The art of ignorance is where I prevail.

The last comic, the last concert we saw unveiled?
The last dance, the last glance that whisked me from the floor?
Discreet musings often color me pale.

When can my memory finally exhale?
When won’t I grant you the right to ignore?
The art of ignorance is where I prevail.
Discreet musings often color me pale.
